Amber is an amazing material with an amazing history as it is actually fossilised resin which may contain an insect trapped in time. If you ever watched the movie Jurassic Park you will know that the story is based around scientists taking DNA from the insect trapped within to reproduce dinosaurs.  The way that science is going I wouldn't be surprised if fiction became fact.

Amber comes is various colours with prices to match.  The cheapest is brown in colour, green is more expensive, whilst clear is the most expensive.  However finding amber jewellery with the insect inside is the most difficult to find so you will pay very high prices.

Most amber is found in the Baltic with some in the Dominican Republic too.  Be aware that amber is a soft material so should be stored carefully in a soft cloth to prevent scratches.
